Cold Sore Treatments
For the treatment of cold sores, also known as Herpes Zoster infections on the lips and nose. We have a variety of treatments for this common but embarrassing condition.
Compeed Patches. These are hi-tech hydrocolloid dressings that reduce the healing time of the cold sore. They reduce or avoid the need for the wound around the cold sore to produce a scab and start the healing process immediately.
Aciclovir cream 5%. We stock the original branded product Zovirax and an Irish generic product called Acic which is equivalent. These anti-viral products work by interfering with the viruses ability to replicate, allowing the body's immune system to eliminate the virus.
Lysine: These products are thought to help the body deal with the virus. We stock both 500mg and 1000mg Lysine by the Irish Manufacturer Sona as well as Lysinel which is a course of vitamins to try and speed the healing process.
